Remember the days in your 20s when you put on your makeup and felt like you could conquer the world? We mastered how to do our makeup in our 20s for our youthful skin and then the years passed and the effects of getting older hit us. Our post 40 skin has changed. Fine lines and wrinkles have appeared, our lips have started to disappear, our eyelids seem to have grown extra skin and our cheekbones have faded, just to name a few! The makeup we once applied in our 20s doesn’t work for our post 40 skin.
Simply put, our makeup and the way we apply it needs revisiting to suit our mature skin. It’s easy to do, look in the mirror, think about skin you have not skin you had, work with what you have now and learn to accentuate and enhance the beauty that is there because it's most definitely there, it's just different to the 20 year old you!
In the words of Jo, “Be brave, look at your face, see what’s changed and learn what you can do”
If you have looked in the mirror recently and have had one of those moments when you realised that your skin and features are ageing and changing, Jo Jowett has got you. She hears you, you are not alone in the world of makeup post 40. Jo is on a mission to show women how to apply their own makeup to enhance their features, just the way they are. Recently, Jo was interviewed on BBC Radio all about makeup and getting older.
Not only does Jo chat about teaching Princess Diana how to apply her own makeup but she shares loads of tips and advice for women over 40. After writing her book at the age of 50, Jo launched her website, JoJewett.com selling cherry picked makeup items and virtual tutorials where Jo can take your hand - virtually and guide you through her makeup technique.
Jo is passionate about working with women who are ready to embrace the age they are and to help them to learn how they can enhance their natural beauty and boost their confidence using a small make up bag. Jo will show you that your beauty routine can be minimal and effortless. Jo firmly believes that great things happen out of a small makeup bag!
So ditch frosted eye shadows, ditch the over pencilled eyebrows, ditch the gloss and leave the trends to the kids. Make up is the most powerful thing in our routines. Applied well, it can make us glow.
